Nicolas Cage Hair Loss
Perhaps the most versatile big-budget actor in Hollywood, Nicolas Cage has starred in a huge variety of different movies, most of which have gone on to become absolutely massive box office successes all over the world. On top of the fact that he is Hollywood’s most in demand actor though, he is also one of the actors in Hollywood that seems to constantly be struggling with a receding hairline – a subject that has courted much media speculation over the years – speculation that Cage has never responded to. Despite this though, his hair has never held him back when it comes to landing the juiciest roles that Hollywood directors can throw at him.
Cage’s career began in the 1980s with such movies as Raising Arizona and Peggy Sue Got Married, and since then he has gone on to star in some of the most successful box office releases of modern times. Movies such as Leaving Las Vegas, Con Air, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and National Treasure have all seen Cage acting in various states of hair loss, although his performances have never been affected by this supposed problem. He really does go to prove that hair loss need not be a barrier for success for men in any walk of life.
There has been much speculation though recently regarding the state of Cage’s hair, as many are saying that he has undergone treatment to restore its hairline to its former state. This was most noticeable at an event in March 2011 for the release of Drive Angry 3D, where Cage attended with a hairline that had seemingly grown almost overnight. Although this is purely speculation, he would join a distinguished cast of actors who have had this treatment if the rumors are true, such as John Travolta, Brendan Fraser and Mel Gibson. Even celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey has reportedly had this treatment
The fact is though that with or without a full head of hair, Cage has still consistently been one of the most in demand movie stars in the world. This goes to show that he has never let the fact that he is “slightly balding” affect the quality of his work. One can only assume that if he has had treatment, it is simply for personal reasons and that he felt more comfortable after the procedure, still it appears he does it to look good infront of the cameras, and that the Bruce Willis shaved look does not fit him well (imagine Cage with a shaved hair, he might seem dorky). After all, for a man that once underwent a face transplant in Face/Off, a small procedure on his hair follicles is really no big deal!
Hair or no hair, Cage will be starring in many more movies over the next couple of years, with a couple of them being highly anticipated by the public already. He will soon be seen on the big screen in the action packed Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, as well as in The Hungry Rabbit Jumps and Trespass. It seems that the demand for this most versatile of actors is showing absolutely no signs of fading, even if his hair is starting to make a remarkable reappearance to the world!
