Bruce Willis has been a Hollywood heart throb since the early 1980s, starring in various action films as the rugged hero who always saves the day. Throughout this period he has maintained his trademark cool and confidence that have made women fall all over him – even though his hairline has steadily receded over time. For anyone that questions their appearance when they start to lose their hair, Willis really is the man that they should be looking up to.

Willis’ career began in the hit 1980’s show Moonlighting – a time that saw him with a full head of hair and the same attitude that he sports now. Since this debut, he has gone on to star in some of the most successful motion pictures of all time, while also marrying one of the world’s most beautiful women, Demi Moore. Since they split up, he has married Emma Hemming, who is a woman 25 years younger than him and who is obviously not put off at all by the lack of hair that Willis has.

Willis’ hair loss began to show considerably at the beginning of the 1990s, especially in his role as Ernest Menville in the drama Death Becomes Her. Since then he has carved out a niche for himself as the hard man, most noticeably in such movies as Die Hard, Pulp Fiction and Sin City. He has also proved flexible though, which was best seen in his stunning portrayal of a psychologist in The Sixth Sense. Throughout all of these performances, Willis has never seemed hindered by his lack of hair – in fact, he seems to wholeheartedly embrace it.

Willis’ success is probably down to the fact that the bald look is increasingly being seen as a “manly” look – a look that only the toughest can pull off. Nobody can argue with the statement, especially when Vin Diesel and Jason Statham join him in the argument for men with shaved heads. It just goes to show that baldness isn’t a hindrance to success, but that peoples’ attitude about it is.

Willis embraces the style so much that he is now one of the only Hollywood actors who deliberately shaves his head to bring out the bald appearance. Granted, this look is perfect for the kind of character that Willis usually plays – the tough cop or the action hero – but it also shows that he is completely confident with the way that he looks. While many other stars don wigs and other devices to ensure that nobody sees the onset of a balding crown, Willis shows it off proudly to the world.

The job offers for Willis are still pouring in and this year he is expected to star in even more high octane and hard hitting movies – which he will almost certainly act in replete with a shaved head and trademark attitude. Some of the upcoming blockbusters to watch out for him in are Catch .44 and Die Hard 5, both of which promise to show Bruce Willis in all of his shaven headed glory!
