Biotin for Hair loss

It is a fact that Biotin plays an important role in process of hair grows and also in prevention of hair loss. According to nutritionists and doctors, biotin (known also as vitamin H or B7) is an important vitamin for hair growth.

When it comes to male or female pattern baldness, it is also highly recommended to take biotin in addition to other medical baldness cures such as Minoxidil, Proscar & Propecia – in order to create a critical mass that fights baldness.

Biotin and hair loss are inter related. Deficiency of biotin may harm the process of hair growth which might also lead to shedding. Biotin is an important component not only to hair growth but also vital for the skin, nails and many internal organs and physiological processes such as cells growth and cells breathing.

Biotin can be found in many foods, especially in milk foods, meat, liver and eggs (only in the yellow yolk). When it comes to eggs, it’s important to know that the egg protein (the white part in the egg) binds biotin and makes it non-available to the body which in turn causes deficiency of biotin and hair loss. Therefore it’s important not to consume too much egg protein. There are also natural shampoos that are enriched with biotin and may help preventing hair loss.

Biotin is non-toxic, and you may consume even more then the normal recommended daily dose, no side effects are known.

Biotin supplements are often taken as tablets, as it’s an easy and fast way to return missing vitamins to the body.

Some people with medical conditions or certain blood type (especially blood type A) don’t absorb B vitamins including biotin very well. As you already know Biotin, a family member of the Vitamin B group, is required for normal hair growth. Adding biotin supplements on a daily basis will help to prevent hair loss.

Following are foods that includes high level of biotin: Brewer’s yeast, green peas, oats, soybeans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, green peas, bulgur and brown rice and of course meat, milk and eggs. These foods also contain other B group vitamins, which are also important for proper hair growth, so be aware and try to make sure you get them in your diet.

Of course, medical conditions that requires medication may suffer from lack of biotin as the drugs may prevent absorption. In addition, people with heartburn, acid reflux, or GERD that are taking anti-acid supplements or medications may absorb less biotin and are much more exposed to hair loss. For those people, biotin supplements as well as other supplements can be a good solution.

Biotin is a leading hair food! If you suffer from hair loss I highly recommend taking a biotin supplement and using a biotin enriched shampoo.
