B Complex Vitamins for Baldness

When I just began to realize I’m losing my hair, I thought that vitamins and mineral can cure it. Well, today I know that they are essential for healthy hair growth but plays only a small role when it comes to the reason I was losing my hair – male pattern baldness.

My blood tests showed I should improve my diet, as my vitamins and minerals levels were in some cases lower then the average. My doctor recommended that I take supplements, especially zinc and B group complex. I’m sure it helped me regrow my hair and I keep taking supplements together with proven baldness cures that are aimed to treat male pattern baldness.

You should take into account that lack of vitamins and minerals can help, especially when shedding is a result of poor diet. Although there are numerous causes for hair loss, dietary insufficiency is found to be a major cause (the 3 top reasons for hair loss  are pattern baldness, stress and diet).

When it comes to diet,  hair loss can be caused by a deficiency in B group vitamins – especially B6, inositol, Biotin, and folic acid. Other B vitamins, especially B5 (pantothenic acid) and B3 (Niacin) are also important for healthy hair follicles.

When you need to add vitamins or minerals to your diet as part of your efforts to cure hair loss, this intake should be performed carefully. You don’t need all vitamins and minerals, just those that are missing in your body. In some cases overdose or certain vitamins & minerals (such as vitamin A and iron) can be toxic, so give up on multi-vitamins, and focus on those that are required and helpful. In the top of the list – B group vitamins are the most important.

Researches shows that intake of vitamin B6 resulted in stimulated hair growth and this why many hair loss products contain this vitamin.  It also improves the overall effect and absorption of other substances such as zinc and azelaic acid.

Among the B vitamins, Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid) and vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) are known as “hair loss vitamins” and “hair foods”. B vitamins are rich in foods like bran, nuts, eggs, soy beans, meat, cauliflower, peas, and beans. Since most of our food is cooked and processed we lose a lot of the vitamins  and an intake of these vitamins separately (as supplements) can help to improve the quality, texture, and growth of our hair.

B Group Vitamins are vital for a proper hair growth – as well as for many other physiological process. They are non-toxic, and can be taken in addition to regular diet.

B complex vitamins can be found in www.puritan.com (type  “B complex vitamins” in the search box), this is also where I get them (best prices & service, top quality products).
